Bruno is a 18 month old Labrador cross and was brought into us by one of our inspectors as he had been chained up outside and has been with us for some time now. We don't understand why such a lovely, lively dog has received no interest. Bruno has calmed down a lot since he first came into kennels and he has won over the hearts of all the staff both at the kennels and the RSPCA volunteers who walk him. Such a loving dog deserves a loving home so please give Bruno the chance to start a new life as the member of an active household. Please telephone Mike or Wendy 01284-703807 if you are the person who can give Bruno the home he needs. Our web site www.rspcasuffolk.org.uk shows other animals that are looking for new homes.

Boo and Sulley are 7 month old Border Collies. They are lovely puppies and are typical of the breed. They are brother and sister so it would be nice if they could be rehomed together. They are being rehomed because their owner is in the services and has now been posted overseas. | Truda
age Last Chance Animal Rescue 23/01/08 23:16

Lovely
This is our Truda,
Truda is our special dog, she is our meeting and greeting girl. All our new dogs and some cats meet and spend time with our girl. She is good with all dogs, but not afraid to tell them off, and put them in their place, she’s not aggressive, just good at body language.
Truda,
This is Truda write up from her previous owner.
Truda was born February 2000 we celebrate her birthday on the 20th of February. We buy her presents and a small cake for her birthday.
Truda loves to play with her toys, balls are her favourite! She loves fetch, but doesn’t always let you have the ball back.
It’s best to have two or more, she will let you have it if you say OUT! And sit. Depends what mood she is in whether she will let you have the ball back.
She also love the toys that have a ball on the end of a bit of rope, because she loves to play tug of war and she nearly always wins as well. She loves squeaky toys, but they won’t squeak for long.
She loves plastic fizzy drink bottles (empty of course, the big ones) she gets the lid off first then squashes flat. Handy for recycling. She also loves bubbles, blowing bubbles is a favourite game she loves to try and catch them. Also loves snow, trying to catch snow balls is a good game that she likes. When it snows.
She loves water, hose pip, paddling pool. Difficult to water the garden when she is around! She loves play in a paddling pool but she will tear the bottom if you don’t watch her.
She had training, she will sit, shake hands, lay down, fetch, and stay. She is not too good walking on the lead, she pulls. But off the least she is great, she will never walk too far from where you are and is always looking to see where your are and wait for you if your are bit slow. She comes back when called to put her lead back. Just say come! She has never run off.
She steals sweets! She loves chocolate!
If left lying about she will find and eat! She will eat vegetables, cereals, weetabix, Ready break, toast, and she likes to drink tea. Basically, if you have any food left over at dinner she’ll usually finish it off for you.
Whenever you’ve got food it won’t be long before Truda is there, sitting in front of you and giving you her puppy eyes. So when feeding her from your hand you should always say “Nicely” first otherwise she might take the food roughly and accidentally nip your fingers at the same time.
And you should always tell her she’s a good girl, when she does something right (example, sits when you tell her to) and usually a forcefully spoken “No” will stop her from doing anything she shouldn’t be doing.
She drinks most things, watch your cups and glasses! If left unattended, she will help herself. She will eat most things as well (She doesn’t like stuffing). She does eat cat and dog food as well as main meal, tinned food with mixed biscuits or complete dog food.
She is toilet trained, right from a puppy, was very from the start and still is.
She is very loving and protective of her family, although she is not good with people she doesn’t know! Or see a lot. I usually put her in the kitchen if we have visitors we don’t see often.
She doesn’t like lots of people crowding around her and stroking her, she gets scared and will nip.
She has lived with 2 cats she would love to play with them, but they are not interested. She does get jealous if you talk to other animals, she likes all the attention. She is a big baby.
She is very loving and playful still acts like a puppy on occasion.
My nick name for her is puppy or pup, yes I have spolit her, but she deserves to be, as she was rescued and about 5 weeks old. She has never been a whinny dog or one that cries even as a puppy. She has not bee allowed in bedrooms or sleep on human beds. She likes her own bed or floor (sofa in allowed) Basically she was a very good puppy and behaved very well, quickly toilet trained always went on the newspaper or outside.
She is not afraid of fireworks or loud noises. Beware when doing DIY as she is very nosey, not afraid of drills, saws ETC. She will got up to them.
Truda is up to date with her vaccinations, received flea and worming treatment, is micro chipped, spayed and adopted with six weeks free insurance.

Snoopy
German Shepherd, Female approximate 7 years old.#
Snoopy is a truly lovely old girl, she is very friendly and affectionate, but unfortunately she is extremely sad. Snoopy has been in a home for approx two years, but unfortunately had to come back to us. Snoopy is suffering with hip problem that cannot be operated on. She will be ok on medication for which Last Chance will pay for. She desperately needs a quiet home with no other pets or young children, even thou she has lived with Children, due to her condition we would rather she wasn’t, as she gets quite anxious, as she is worried they will hurt her by mistake. This girl still loves her walks and cuddles.
A truly needy case
Snoopy is spayed, up to date with her vaccinations, ID Chipped, flea and worm treated, and has six weeks free insurance with his adoption..

Bull Mastiff, male approximately 4 years old.
Well, all I can say is that this picture does nothing for this boy talk about handsome, talk about big, he’s adorable, and you need to see him to believe me.
This huge boy, absolutely massive, one of the biggest we have ever had, is full of character, he is quite dominant, not a surprise really as he can be due to his size, so really best suited as the only dog in the household. Sherman is very much a playful lad, full of life, very friendly and d fun with it.
please give him a home before we run out of food!!
Sorry, forgot to mention, he is a strong boy as well, so needs an strong active family, hey, would you like the challenge, I know I would.

Bubbles is a Boxer X, Female approx 1 – 2 years old.
She is great with other dogs and very friendly, she is a small girl which makes her even more adorable. Very friendly but can be a bit quite dominant, so would need a confident owner to show her the ropes. This girl has been neglected, so needs lots of loving, time and patience, and more so needs regular feeding to but her weight back on, this would happen much quicker in a loving home.

Brew
Collie/Staffie 2-3yrs
This is our Brew, he is a extremely friendly boy and loves affection. Due to him being crossed with a border collie, he would benefit from plenty of exercise and stimulation. He would also benefit from gentle training, either a positive owner or classes. He is very strong on the lead and will pull, so consideration must be taken regarding this, this is where training would benefit. Due to his strength and being fairly lively, we suggest older children, around 13, that can take an active interest in helping to train him, give him the stimulation and play loads of games with him.
Brew is up to date with his vaccinations, flea and worm treated, spayed, micro chipped and will have six weeks free insurance with Pet Plan.

Aaron
This is our Aaron, he is a delightful Jack Russell X, he is approximately 2 years old and a real affectionate little love.
Aaron is still a young boy, so that means he is a very happy chap, and lively with it.
Now the home that we are looking for for our Aaron is really a one to one home, as Aaron loves his owner so much that he will protect them, am sure in time and with a confident firm owner he will be less anxious and worried about protecting you, if you reverse the situation he will look at you for protection. Due to his protective streak, we will not home Aaron with any children or any other animals.
He is a lovely friendly chap, and extremely handsome, a nice size and as loyal as they can come. Are you the right person for this boy? if you would like to know more, give us a shout.
Aaron was rehomed for about 5 days, even thou they loved him, he came back for these reasons. He became aggressive towards some dogs, and was wary of a stranger, the person may have reminded him of something bad? He had shown some possessive behaviour towards his toys and food.
Even thou he is a small loving chap, Aaron does not like being picked up.
We have found that Aaron loves his treats and toys, so this is a brilliant way to stimulate him and train him, and help him know what life has to offer.
Brew is up to date with his vaccinations, flea and worm treated, spayed, micro chipped and will have six weeks free insurance with Pet Plan.

Lawrence
Collie X8mths -1yr
This lovely boy is very playful and lively. Lawrence is good with other dogs, and CATS also with children, but we suggest older children, say 10yrs, this is because this boy needs loads of exercise, stimulation and further training. If he was with younger children he may knock them over in excitement. He needs an active family, loads of walks, loads of fun and stimulation, he would also benefit from further training
At present we believe he doesn't like being left, hence an active family, ideally someone at home most of the day, or another dog that can give him the company he needs, hence him not being anxious being left for short periods.
Lawrence is up to date with his vaccinations, flea and worm treated, spayed, micro chipped and will have six weeks free insurance with Pet Plan.

| Kujo

Kujo
Kujo is a young male Dobermann approximately 12 months old. On entering rescue he weighed 11.5 kg from an adult weight of between 33 – 37 kg. His current weight is 25.5 kg.
At the moment Kujo is on 3 meals a day. Because he was starved, food is very exciting for him; both his own and human food.
His favourite place is to be curled up next to someone. He is very loving, although he is still mouthing and does jump up, so he needs to learn how to control himself. He can be very vocal. He is learning Off, Leave, Come, Sit and Toilet and is pretty much housetrained.
His recall is getting better, but is not 100% and so he is still on a harness and long line. Kujo needs a lot of exercise and would benefit from having a large garden to run around in. He is very strong on the lead.
Kujo is still chewing and needs to have a wide variety of strong chew toys (i.e. a black Kong) that he can play with, and that will provide him with mental stimulation.
Kujo would be better in an experienced adult home without other animals, although if carefully introduced he may be able to live with an older, calm bitch. He does not like cats or birds.
Kujo can become defensive and frustrated around other dogs, and will quickly work himself into a frenzy, which results in him redirecting his frustration to other things, for example the lead. This will require careful, expert handling and work, and Kujo may need to be introduced to a muzzle.
Kujo is up to date with his vaccinations, flea and worm treated, spayed, micro chipped and will have six weeks free insurance with Pet Plan.

| Sally Crossbreed
RSPCA_Derby RSPCA Derby 19/01/07 19:25
2518 0
Sally arrived at the shelter on 27/10/06 and she was brought in by an RSPCA Inspector, having been found abandoned in a house. We had to keep her at the shelter for 21 days in case her previous owner came for her, which of course they didn’t, but she has been available for adoption ever since.
Sally is an adult crossbreed of about five or six years old. She is a lovely playful and friendly dog. She loves to play in the yard with the staff, especially with a tennis ball, but she would much rather you chased her with it, than give it back to you! She is lively and fun and loves to interact with people. When Sally is in her kennel, she watches everyone who walks past - that’s because not many people stop to talk to her. But if you take the time to bend down and tickle her tummy through the bars, her tail wags so hard! She loves fuss and attention, but very few people seem to want to give her any. She doesn’t deserve to be overlooked like this. She is possibly not the most beautiful dog that we have at the shelter, and she isn’t a puppy or very elderly, but that doesn’t mean that she shouldn’t have a happy and loving home where she feels safe and loved. She can’t help how she looks! She just knows that when people give her attention and love, she feels happy and she can’t help showing it! She loves her treats and learns new tricks very quickly as she just wants to please everyone. She loves going for walks and travels well in the car. She can pull on the lead a little at first, but at the moment, she is lucky to be going for one walk a week, so you can understand her excitement and enthusiasm to be out of her kennel. Once she has been out for a little while, she walks at a steady pace, but when she is in her new home, it won’t take her long to realise that walks are supposed to be part of everyday life.
If you are thinking about having a dog, or even if you weren’t thinking about it just at the moment, please do come and see little Sally. She is loving and playful and friendly – just what most people are looking for in any dog they chose. Someone out there must have the loving home that this little dog is waiting for. Please don’t think someone else will give it to her, as no one has yet and Sally doesn’t deserve to stay in a cold concrete kennel for any longer.
Derby RSPCA email info@derby-rspca.org.uk Web www.derby-rspca.org.uk Phone 01332 344 620 Opening hours Friday to Wednesday 12.30 to 3.30pm We can undertake home visits in any part of the country All our dogs are health checked, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped If you wish to adopt one of our dogs and you have any dogs and cats already, they must also be neutered and vaccinated.

OUR WONDERFUL SCIENCE
This is our adorable Science, now I really do not know why this lovely lad is still with us. Science is approximately 3 years old, so still a young lively lad. We are looking for someone that can mould this lovely lad into a well-groomed pooch. He needs to go to training and socialising classes. So science is looking for a lively home, with older children as he likes to jump and spin around so he would definitely knock little ones down, not on purpose of course, just sheer excitement, as he is so full of bounce and fun.
Science has a wonderful curly tail, which makes him look a real stunner, he looks very much Labrador with something else thrown in. Science is around 19 inches high, and very strong, so training will be required to make him stop pulling on the lead, most of it is excitement, and he does gradually slow up, but not a lot.
This lovely lad needs his chance, and I know with a confident, experienced dog owner, he will be a great companion and friend to a wonderful to his new family.
Science is up to date with his vaccinations, flea and worm treated, neutered, mirco chipped and will have six weeks free insurance with Pet Plan.
Come on you know you want to?

Sweet, affectionate Bertha, what a girl
This is our Bertha, she is a wonderful staffie x, female around 2 years old.
Now what can we say about this girl, well it’s like this.
Bertha, is an extremely friendly girl, loves people with a passion, but doesn’t feel the same about others of her own species, yes she is yet another that wasn’t socialised as a young pup, such a waste of an animal. She also is not used to other animals, so she can not be re-homed with any other pets, i.e. cats, rabbits etc.
Bertha has had a bad time till she came to us, she isn’t used to young children, so we suggest older children, teenagers that might help her with being anxious about something’s, especially being left at home alone. Bertha needs a home where she will be the centre of attention, where someone can work with her, and give her back her confidence, she will make a wonderful pet, loving, loyal, and fun, as long as that person/family give her the time to unwind and be herself, which I am sure would be a real loving, loyal, wonderful companion.
Bertha up to date with her vaccinations, flea and worm treated, spayed, mirco chipped and will have six weeks free insurance with Pet Plan.

Block is a delightful wee Staffordshire Bull Terrier, he would need an experienced Staffy owner, as I am afraid that this boy does not like other dogs or cats, yet another of many wonderful dogs out there, that were not socialised in those most important weeks of puppyhood. Due to this reason we are looking for a committed, owner, with older children that understands his anxieties.
Block is a real handsome chap, which unfortunately this picture doesn’t show, I will get a better one for you all to see him as he really is, yeap a STUNNER. He is really compact, very energetic, full on bounce and strong with it. He loves nothing more than playing games with you, he doesn’t care what games, just having fun with you is the best thing to him, a lovely chap just waiting for you.
Come get me, am a real chip of the old block!
Block is up to date with his vaccinations, flea and worm treated, neutered, mirco chipped and will have six weeks free insurance with Pet Plan.

Tiger arrived at the shelter on 29/09/06
He is 6 year old Rotweiller.
Tiger was brought to the shelter by his owner, with his other dog, Zaya, because he could no longer afford to keep them. He is a big friendly boy, who loves his fuss and playtimes! He is affectionate and loving and has been well looked after.
He is a big dog and will need experienced owners who will be able to show him that he doesn't have to take responsibility for the whole household! He is a bright and intelligent dog and will quickly learn what is expected of him in his new home. He loves his treats and pleasing you. He can sometimes seem a bit noisy when people walk past his kennel, but this is not his real self - he is just frightened by the noise and commotion.
My hopes for the future .. Tiger will make a wonderful companion for an experienced family, where any children are in their teens (only because he is so big!) Layla is a lovely girl with a few problems. She has been in two homes and neither worked out but not through any fault of hers. She needs to be an only dog with a lady owner who has time, patience and loads of tlc to give Layla. We think that she would blossom in the right home.
Once again Layla has been with us for too long and needs to get into a home of her own.
If you think you could love Layla please ring 01805 601190 |

Boris is a large white and black boy who is five years old. He has been in a home with another dog but unfortunately things did not work out as Boris does not like to be left for too long. We think that once he felt confident he would in fact be able to be left for a reasonable period.
A lovely boy who is eager to please and loves to run.
If you think you would like to rehome Boris please contact me

Gracie has been in kennels far too long for no reason apart from the fact that she has always been overlooked. She was born in 1999 so is now seven years old. She is brindle and a bit grey around the muzzle and unfortunately has very few teeth but this does not affect her eating habits.
Gracie would love to have a home of her own for Christmas.
Please contact Sally 01805 601190 if you think you could offer her a home |

Danny is a crossbreed that was brought into the shelter in February. He is about 2 years old.
Danny was brought into the shelter by his previous owners because they were moving house and could not take him with them.
Danny has been at a foster home for serveral months where he has made good progess and has now come back to the shelter. He is a very bright and intelligent dog. He learns new things very quickly, although his concentration can wander - he is always so excited to be out of his kennel! But he is learning to walk on the lead without pulling and is picking it up quickly. Once he gets into his new home, he will find it much easier to devote all his attention to what he is being taught!
He sometimes barks at people walking past his kennel, but a kind word, and especially a treat will get him to sit quietly and give you his paw! When he was in the foster home, he lived happily with other dogs and loved to play with one of them in particular. The foster parents said that he is very loving and affectionate.
My hopes for the future .. Danny has a great deal of potential - he learns so quickly that he will soon become a loving and loyal companion, with gentle and patient training. He loves his walks and is just looking for a happy and safe forever home.
